Golf Bloopers

It was a very slow day at work today so I spent the morning trolling through youtube clips that people had recommended I watch. One of the funniest videos I was sent was titled golf bloopers and is well worth watching if you like watching crazy things on the golf course.



I must admit to practicing my golf swing inside (without damaging anything fortunately), but I haven't personally seen anything like these on my local course. I would love to hear from anyone who has witnessed something a little strange on their course. Please leave a comment

Phil Mickelson new swing 2008 (Swing Vision Video)

I know there was a couple of people interested in seeing the video of Phil's new swing for 2008 and this video from the Northern Trust open captures the action. I found the commentators remarks interesting and it sounded like he wasn't overly impressed with this swing.

Cure your slice - golf instructional video

Slicing has always been my problem. Whenever I get a little tense or when trying to hit the golf ball a little bit too hard I usually slice the ball. Fortunately I am not the only golfer that suffers with this problem and there are many different articles and videos out there to help us. This little video I found today is from a former Nationwide tour winner and will show you a fantastic drill you can follow to cure your slice. I hope this helps someone out there because I know how frustrating it can be!

Ernie Els Swing Vision (video)

You can imagine that the big easy got his nickname because he doesn't get stressed or takes the game less seriously than some, but it is actually because of he makes swinging a golf club look so easy.

As I type this Ernie is leading the Dubai Desert Classic and while I was admiring his swing I thought I would try and find some swing vision to show my readers. It really is one of the best golf swings going around, and has been for some time - Enjoy!

Golf instruction: Bump and Run (Video)

While it is not regarded as a very glamorous shot the bump and run should be a shot in every golfers arsenal. This great little instructional video will give you the basics you need to play this great little shot. As always practice makes perfect (or so they keep telling me) and this shot is one that doesn't take too long to learn. I loved watching Greg Norman play this shot and he had one awesome short game.

Just a word of warning though this shot can be very frustrating - for the opposition! A 60 yard bump and run from my brother (he says he meant it) last round that ended up inches from the hole, while my pitch was still yards away, almost had me in tears.

Funny Golf Video

This is one of the funniest things I have seen (well today anyway). Just imagine you are in the deep rough yet still want to hit your driver - well then this is the product for you. Imagine the look on your playing partners faces! Hmmm... I wonder if it is on the non conforming driver list.

Stuart Appleby Swing Vision Video Analysis

There is no hiding my admiration for this guy. I think he is a great guy who happens to be a decent golfer as well. I thought it was appropriate to post Stuart's swing vision analysis for my readers today on the morning of the Mercedes-Benz Championship because he has won the tournament 3 times. Why this early season form has never really followed him around has surprised me, but when it all comes together it is great to watch.

As for the swing vision itself it is one of the cleanest swings I have seen and even though the video is short I have picked up something to try at the range this week. Enjoy.

Golf Pro Video Lesson: Flop Shot

The Internet has really revolutionalized the way we can seek golfing advice and with the advent of video sharing sites like youtube we are able to find almost any golf lesson we need. The next advent will be HD youtube, which will make the videos more clear and easier to watch and will make online golfing instruction even better. I can't wait!

I came across this video yesterday and thought I would share it with my readers. It has a very easy to understand method of playing the flop shot and while I use a slightly different method myself, this method should work for most golfers.

Golf Swing Vision - Sergio Garcia

Another of my favorite golfers Sergio Garcia is probably best known for being so close, but never winning a major. He has a swing that many golfers admire and this great swing analysis vision just shows that an orthodox golf swing doesn't work for everyone. Enjoy

Putting Tips - Week 2

It's week 2 of my putting tips (view week one) and trying some of last weeks tips I have had some successes, but I still feel like I can do better with my putting.

The tip I am going to follow this week is another youtube golf pro special that suggests I can improve my putting by working on:

• Starting the ball on the right line (well that makes sense)
• Concentrating on the starting line

This guy (Lee Scarbrow) suggests placing two tees to form a little gate on your starting line and putting through the tees. This supposedly will help focus starting my ball of the correct line.

I have heard this tip before and I am willing to give it a go - now I just have to find a green keeper who wont mind me sticking two tees in his beautiful green.

I feel like posting something a little more on the lighter side of golf and there is nothing funnier (at work 3 pm on a Tuesday anyway) than a send up of a golf instructor. All those damn things they tell us to do, concentrate on and practice sometimes sounds like a whole lot of nothing.

Rory Sabbatini Golf Swing Vision

I am currently watching the Australian PGA as I write this and have been very interested in Rory Sabbatini's swing, which they have just shown an analysis of during the coverage. I thought I would post it up here for you to have a look at. He certainly has some weird looking leg positions, but it seems to work for him!

Trevor Immelman Swing Vision (video)

Considering Trevor Immelman just won the Nedbank Golf Challenge it is a very appropriate time to have a look at his swing vision. He really has a great swing and as the commentator says - watch how much he turns and rotates his body through the shot, it is quite amazing.




I must admit I have become a bit of an addict of swing vision as they can really give you some great insight into what makes a great gold swing. I hope to bring many more in the future - feel free to suggest a swing vision you would like to see by leaving a comment.

Tiger Woods Golf Clinic - Video (rare footage)

I was so excited to find this video today that I couldn't do anything, but come here and post it for all my readers. In this video the great man Tiger Woods gives some of his tips for playing and practicing golf. He covers important topics like:

• Preparation (on the range)
  
• Hooking
• Slicing
• Hitting it low
• Fairway bunkers

He also talks about the problems he saw with his swing at Augusta in 1997 and the changes he made to his swing. He even shows his old swing to show the difference between the new swing and the old swing. This really shows the ambition of Tiger as he was playing well with his old swing, but knew he could play even better - amazing.

This is a must watch for every golfer - enjoy

Golfers choice - Lucky or Good?

This is the age old question, would you rather be lucky or good? Personally I would choose good over lucky everyday, but on those rounds where I wish I was getting paid by the shot I would choose lucky. Now my reason for this is that sometimes a little bit of luck can turn a round into something special. The confidence from something amazing happening during your round can't be discounted.

So today I am asking all my readers the question:

jack Nicklaus Golf Tips - Video

I must admit I wasn't old enough to see the golden bear in his prime, but I have watched him play golf many times in recent years and he still has a beautiful swing. He still hits the ball better than most golfers and he shows that you can still play golf long after your prime.

Earlier I brought you some old Ben Hogan golf tips, so I thought I have to also include arguably the greatest golfers tips as well. Jack has some really great things to say in this short video and is well worth watching.

If you are new to the game then this video is a must watch! I wish I could find this original tape for myself!

Ben Hogan's Golf Tips - Video

Ben Hogan is considered one of the greatest golfers to play the game. In 292 career PGA Tour events, Ben Hogan finished in the Top 3 in 47.6-percent of them. He finished in the Top 10 in 241 of those 292 events. He finished with 64 tour victories and 9 major victories. So I am quite excited to have found this footage of Hogan explaining some golf swing pointers.

The footage might be slightly old and Ben might not be with us any more, but the tips apply just as much today as when Ben first filmed the video. Enjoy the master at work.

Vijay Singh golf swing - video analysis

Unfortunately I could only find Vijay's old swing, but I wanted to show some analysis of his swing because I find it to be such an interesting golf swing that has obviously worked for him in previous years (you can't be a 3 time major winner without doing something right). Not being a golf professional I wouldn't know how common this type of swing is to regular golfers, but I would be interested to hear from anyone who knows.

This video contains some really great golf swing analysis and it even kept me interested.
