Yesterday I was watching a documentary about a man wanting to insure himself against being hit by a golf ball when walking his dog and the method the insurance company uses to decide the cost of the policy (it was a slow day). Whilst that example may seem a little extreme insurance is one of life's necessities and homeowners insurance is probably at the top of the list importance wise. It insures our things against burglary, fires and natural disasters (always check the policy). However, even with a good insurance policy it is still important to make sure we pay attention to home security as this can prevent anything bad from happening in the first place.
